Graduated from the English Language and Culture Department, Faculty of Humanities at Fuji Women’s University. Became an interpreter in January 2013 after working for an organization affiliated to the Danish Ministry of Industry. Business and Financial Affairs, the Department of Global Communications at the UN Headquarters in New York, and an organization affiliated to the US Department of Agriculture, among others. From April 2013, joined the all-division interpreter pool of McDonald’s Japan. Worked as personal interpreter for CEO Sarah Casanova from February 2015 and currently performs overall interpreting for the CEO and McDonald’s Japan top management.

Here, I talk about the attraction of working as an in-house interpreter for the well-known mammoth hamburger chain, McDonald’s. How do we convey powerful messages to listeners? What is a trusted in-house interpreter? I will talk about what is going on behind the scenes, including what I think is important in interactions with the media, external speeches, and so on.
